Hayley Atwell has become a fan-favorite in the Marvel Cinematic Universe through her portrayal of Peggy Carter and various alternate versions, including Captain Carter. Amid rumors that Atwell might appear in the highly anticipated Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday, CinemaBlend asked the actress directly about her involvement.
Currently promoting Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, Atwell spoke candidly when questioned about the rumors surrounding her potential appearance in the next Avengers film. She stated:
“I would be delighted to be ever called back in to reprise a role. I loved it, it was such an important part of my life. I’m sure there’s so much more that can be done with that character as I’ve grown and developed as an actor as well. Yeah, I mean… if they want to give me a chair, I will happily sit in it. But I have nothing else to offer. That’s news to me.”
Her statement suggests she hasn’t yet been approached for Avengers: Doomsday or isn’t able to confirm her involvement at this point. Still, Atwell expressed clear enthusiasm about the possibility of returning to the character that has defined much of her career.
Fans will have to wait until May 1, 2026, when Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release, to see if Atwell indeed makes a return appearance.
