At 76 years old, Samuel L. Jackson continues to be one of Hollywood’s most active and prolific actors. Despite his extensive career—over 200 film and TV credits—Jackson doesn’t seem to be planning retirement anytime soon, and according to his wife, there’s a special reason for that.
In a recent conversation with People, Jackson’s wife and fellow actor, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, opened up about their shared philosophy on retirement, revealing a personal “pact” they have made:
“My husband and I—Sam and I—both have said we’re going to do it till the wheels fall off. We both have this pact between us that if we see ourselves doing more [than] we [should] be doing, we’ll pull each other in and say, ‘It’s time. Come in the house,’ and do it that way. We are just going to do this as long as life allows.”
This mutual agreement highlights the couple’s dedication to continuing their professional lives as long as possible, while ensuring they support each other’s well-being. Clearly, neither Samuel nor LaTanya are ready to slow down just yet, choosing instead to keep working as long as they’re able.
