Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey has unveiled its first teaser, screening exclusively in theaters ahead of the release of Jurassic World Rebirth.

Variety reports that the 70-second clip offers a brief but intriguing glimpse at Matt Damon in the role of the Greek hero Odysseus. The teaser begins with Odysseus alongside his son, Telemachus (Tom Holland), and an unidentified character portrayed by Jon Bernthal. A voiceover, reportedly from Robert Pattinson, references a dead “master” and a king who triumphed in an “unwinnable war,” clearly nodding toward Odysseus’ legendary role in the Trojan War.

Further scenes tease iconic elements from the epic, such as the Trojan Horse, before transitioning to dialogue between Telemachus and Bernthal’s character about the mysterious fate of Odysseus. They speculate whether the hero is dead or captured, alluding to the numerous tales surrounding his long disappearance. The teaser closes dramatically with Odysseus revealed stranded at sea, clinging desperately to fragments of wood.

Despite strict copyright enforcement removing leaked clips from platforms like X and TikTok, anticipation continues to build online.

The film boasts a star-studded cast alongside Damon, Holland, Bernthal, and Pattinson, including Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Mia Goth, Corey Hawkins, Cosmo Jarvis, and others.

Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey will follow Odysseus on his 10-year odyssey home after the fall of Troy, confronting legendary challenges including Sirens, a Cyclops, and a powerful witch-goddess.

The Odyssey hits theaters July 17, 2026.
