Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, beloved stars of the 1994 blockbuster “Speed” and 2006 romantic drama “The Lake House,” are set to reunite for an exciting new romantic thriller from Amazon MGM Studios.
The film, penned by Noah Oppenheim—known for the acclaimed biopic “Jackie” and Netflix’s “Zero Day” starring Robert De Niro—will also feature “Speed” producer Mark Gordon.
Recently celebrating the 30th anniversary of their iconic action film “Speed,” Bullock and Reeves joined director Jan de Bont at Beyond Fest, sharing fond memories and playful commentary about their intense experiences on set.
In “Speed,” Reeves portrayed LAPD officer Jack, tasked with saving passengers on a bus rigged to explode if its speed fell below 50 mph. Bullock starred as Annie, a courageous passenger helping Jack manage the explosive situation.
Playfully speculating about a hypothetical third “Speed” installment, Bullock humorously suggested it would be “the geriatric version,” while de Bont expressed enthusiasm about potentially working with the pair again.
In addition to this highly anticipated reunion, Reeves continues his action-packed streak, reprising his role as John Wick in the “Ballerina” spinoff featuring Ana de Armas and appearing as an angel in Aziz Ansari’s forthcoming film “Good Fortune.” Reeves is also adapting his comic series “BRZRKR” into both a live-action film and an anime series. Bullock, meanwhile, is set to star alongside Nicole Kidman in a sequel to “Practical Magic.”
