Fans awaiting updates from the Spider-Man universe have plenty of reasons to celebrate. While Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand-New Day gears up for its summer 2026 release, excitement is also building for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series Spider-Noir, starring Nicolas Cage as a gritty, seasoned Spider-Man active in 1930s New York City.

Amazon recently unveiled the first official image and a teaser for Spider-Noir during their annual upfronts presentation, revealing that the series will fully embrace a stylish, black-and-white aesthetic—something many fans, including myself, were hoping would be the case.

The released image showcases Cage’s character in a strikingly authentic costume, faithful to its comic-book origins. The attention to detail is clear, especially with the mask’s textured design and distinctive goggles, creating a vintage, noir-inspired look perfectly suited to the show’s period setting.

Shortly after the image debuted, Prime Video shared a teaser clip that confirmed the series would indeed be presented entirely in black and white. This artistic choice not only matches the series’ 1930s noir theme but also ensures that Spider-Noir visually distinguishes itself from other superhero series, adding to its unique appeal.

While specific character details remain scarce—such as whether Cage’s Spider-Noir will be named Peter Parker—the show will focus on a weary former superhero, now working as a private investigator, who is drawn back into crime-fighting. Cage is joined by an impressive supporting cast, including Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson (reportedly cast as the primary antagonist), Abraham Popoola, Li Jun Li, Karen Rodriguez, and Jack Huston.

Co-showrunners and executive producers Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot helm the project, scheduled for release on Prime Video and MGM+ sometime in 2026.

Until then, Spider-Man fans can catch up on other adventures featuring the web-slinger through their Disney+ subscriptions.
